The 2016 vintage (4.5*) is a refined, single-vineyard wine from Lowburn, in the Cromwell Basin. Hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in French oak casks (33 per cent new), it is bright ruby, fresh and youthful, in a medium-bodied style with cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, showing good complexity, finely balanced tannins, and obvious potential. Best drinking 2021+.
